Many years ago I created “the worlds biggest unicorn shop” called Nothing but Unicorns. This was basically my contoso which was a company I would use in a talk at a few conferences.

I went a big further thou and rather than just being imaginary I created the online store and the backend processes and it was all powered by integrating Microsoft Azure with various technologies.

The aim of the talk was to show how you might use Azure technologies at a time when adoption was much lower than today. At one event, a member of the audience even ordered a unicorn while watching my talk.

This was my architecture at the time.

Coming back to the point of this post, I was thinking about this project on a train journey recently and it made me think about the idea that Santa has the worlds biggest one day retail and supply chain operation which is a brilliant burst scale scenario. I wondered how Santa might use Azure to help him deliver a successful Christmas.

This started a chat with ChatGPT bouncing ideas around and it ended up with a blog post but I thought it would be fun to have a series of posts covering the advent period. Over the next few weeks we will explore how Santa might digitally transform the North Pole and talk about which Azure technologies he might use in different areas.

I hope this is a little bit of fun for everyone leading up to Xmas.

Each day ill add the articles below as they are released, just click on the images below to jump to each day.
